Progress not Perfection

Updated: Mar 10, 2021

My name is Anisha Saddler, I have been a volunteer and an employee of West Broadway Community Ministry in the past and am currently an employee of West Broadway Community Organization.

Without the help of West Broadway Community Ministry I honestly have no idea where I'd be today,

Approximately 15 years ago I was abducted from Winnipeg, taken to the outskirts of Ontario where I was tied to a tree, beaten, drugged, raped and starved until I was finally able to escape 4 days later!

Today I suffer from PTSD with severe dissociative disorder.

My triggers are loud unexpected noises, some mannerisms (ie. cracking knuckles), touches, smells and small spaces to mention a few,

When I get triggered I go blind and my hearing becomes so sensitive, i can pick up the smallest of sounds,

Sometimes I try to run from whatever my mind perceives as dangerous blind and have ran clear through traffic completely dissociated,

I fight every day to win back control of my mind, I just want to be normal again!

Although I have escaped him physically, I am STILL not free.

I look forward to the day I can finally take my power back and TRULY be free!

I wouldn't wish what happened to me on ANYONE!!

.. so ..

I thought I'd share how it is for me through this poem I wrote while I was in College!! ..

I'm generating a blog comment based on the article title "Progress not Perfection" and Anisha's story about how West Broadway Community Ministry supported her. I'll write something specific and conversational that ends with a URL-flowing fragment. I've been using https://fruit-love-island.com
