In Winnipeg, MB, 1JustCity operates as a welcoming community centre for people navigating poverty, isolation, and housing instability. Our support services respond to real life as it is lived—through daily meals, hygiene access, cultural supports, and relationship-based care. As a non-profit organization committed to building inclusive communities and growing individuals’ capacities, we work alongside people impacted by homelessness and systemic inequity, not over them. Our drop-in model removes barriers and centers dignity, while our homelessness program connects immediate needs with longer-term pathways toward stability and belonging. In the coldest months, our emergency winter shelter provides safety and warmth when staying outside becomes dangerous.
