Beat the Cold is an annual triathlon hosted by 1JustCity and TriFactor Triathlon Club where weekend warriors, super athletes and fun-letes will run, bike, and skate in the frigid February weather.

The Event

 

For the last five years, the wildest Winnipeggers have beaten the cold so others don’t have to. This year's race will be in-person only.

In-Person Race (February 3, 2024)

We are so excited to welcome you back to The Forks this year. 

 

This race is sanctioned by Triathlon Manitoba.  

 

UPDATE: Due to weather/trail conditions, the 2024 event is now a duathlon, and will include a 4.2 km run, 3.6 km bike, and a 2.5 km run. Scroll down for route information.

 

Join us in all your layers, with all your friends, and help us raise funds for 1JustCity and their emergency overnight shelter, Just a Warm Sleep.

 

There is no virtual option offered this year.

 

Registration Prices

 

Early bird rates (before December 10)

Solo: $50

3-person relay: $105 ($35 each)

2-person relay: $100 ($50 each)

 

Regular rates (after December 11)

Solo: $60

Relay: $120 (whether you have 2 or 3 team members)

Friday, February 2

• Race HQ, Room 201 (next to Coal & Canary), 1 Forks Market Rd.

• 6:30-8 p.m.

Tentative race day schedule:

7:30 a.m. – Racer check-in open in Room 201
7:45 a.m. – Transition opens (to the right/east of the CN Stage at The Forks)
8:30 a.m. – Racer check-in closes
8:40 a.m. – Transition closes
8:45 a.m. – Pre-race briefing with the head referee at the start line
9:00 a.m. – First wave starts (solo)
9:05 a.m. – Second wave starts (relay)
11:00ish a.m. – Awards in Room 201
