At 1JustCity, we respect people for who they are, regardless of what they look like. However, we understand that for many of our community members, appearance can sometimes be a barrier to receiving the respect they deserve.
The underloved community in Winnipeg doesn’t always have access to clean clothes, nice clothes, clothes that fit them properly, and clothes that are able to withstand the harsh Manitoba climate.
Our new project, Layers of Love, is a space where members of our community will have access to clean, appropriate clothing. With two storage containers graciously donated by Access Storage and our new laundry facilities at Oak Table, we’re able to sort, wash, take inventory, and properly distribute the clothing donations we receive from our generous supporters.
We received so many clothing donations in the winter of 2020/2021 that we didn’t know what to do with them all. We also received plenty of out-of-season clothing that we didn’t want to waste. With Layers of Love, we won’t need to get rid of the donations we don’t have space for and can effectively distribute clothing to our community as they need it and on their terms.
Every Friday from 9am to 3:30pm
